The rules that govern your use of BengalTutors. Please read carefully before using the platform.
Welcome to BengalTutors. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "User") and BengalTutors ("BengalTutors", "we", "us", "our"), the operator of the website bengaltutors.com and any related mobile or web applications (the "Platform").
BengalTutors is a service of Teesta Tech, and Teesta Tech is the party that contracts with you and receives payment under these Terms. Any payment you make to BengalTutors is received into a bank account held in the name of Teesta Tech, and will appear as such on your bank statement. Where these Terms say "we" or "us", they mean Teesta Tech trading as BengalTutors.
By creating an account, browsing, or using any feature of the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform immediately.
You may use BengalTutors if:
To register as a Tutor, you must be 18 or older and legally permitted to work in Bangladesh.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
BengalTutors operates a marketplace that connects students and parents with independent tutors in two modes:
BengalTutors does not employ tutors. Tutors are independent contractors who use the Platform to offer their services. We verify identity and academic credentials but we do not control how tutors teach.
As a Student or Parent, you agree to:
For home tutoring with minors, we strongly recommend a parent or guardian be present during all sessions.
As a Tutor, you agree to:
Tutors must never use physical discipline, share inappropriate content, or behave inappropriately with students. Violations result in immediate termination and may be reported to authorities.
All online payments are processed through SSLCommerz, a payment gateway licensed by Bangladesh Bank. We accept bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, and direct bank transfer. BengalTutors does not store your card or wallet credentials.
For home tutoring, BengalTutors charges a one-time placement fee in the first month only, shared between both sides: the student or parent pays 25% of the agreed monthly fee and the tutor pays 25%. The remaining 50% is paid by the student directly to the tutor at the end of the first month.
From month 2 onwards BengalTutors charges nothing. The student pays the tutor the full monthly fee directly, and no money passes through the Platform. There is no recurring commission on home tutoring of any kind.
Worked example on a Tk 8,000 monthly tuition: the student pays Tk 2,000 to BengalTutors and Tk 4,000 to the tutor, a total of Tk 6,000 in month one; the tutor pays Tk 2,000 to BengalTutors. From month two the student pays the tutor Tk 8,000 and BengalTutors receives nothing.
For online one-to-one lessons the student pays the full first month in advance to BengalTutors. The payment is held for the month. At the end of that month BengalTutors retains 50% and transfers the balance to the tutor. The tutor pays nothing up front.
From month 2 the student and tutor may continue through the Platform, in which case BengalTutors retains 10% of each monthly payment and transfers 90% to the tutor, or may arrange directly between themselves, in which case BengalTutors charges nothing and takes no further part.
Batch fees are paid in advance to BengalTutors, either monthly or as a full course fee held and released monthly. BengalTutors retains 10% plus the payment gateway charge each month and transfers the balance to the tutor. Payment by bank transfer carries no gateway charge.
The rates above are the rates in force at the date of these Terms and are published in full at bengaltutors.com/fees. Any change applies only to placements and payments made after the change; an invoice already issued keeps the amount it was issued at.
Tutors are independent contractors and are solely responsible for declaring and paying any applicable income tax, VAT, or other levies on their earnings. BengalTutors does not deduct or remit tax on behalf of tutors.
All transactions are in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) unless explicitly stated otherwise.

When using the Platform, you must not:
The Platform — including its logo, name, design, code, content, and database — is owned by BengalTutors and protected by Bangladeshi and international copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may use the Platform only as expressly permitted by these Terms.
Content you upload (tutor profiles, reviews, lesson materials) remains yours, but by uploading it you grant BengalTutors a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute it as part of operating and promoting the Platform.
Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
BengalTutors is a marketplace and does not guarantee specific academic outcomes, exam results, or the quality of any individual lesson. The Platform and all services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We also do not endorse any specific tutor and are not responsible for disputes between users.
To the maximum extent permitted by Bangladeshi law:
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BengalTutors, its directors, employees, and agents from any claim, liability, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (i) your breach of these Terms; (ii) your misuse of the Platform; or (iii) your violation of any law or third-party right.
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you violate these Terms, fail to pay due amounts, or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful conduct.
On termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately, but provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g. payment obligations, intellectual property, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Chattogram, Bangladesh.
