No argument, no fee, and you do not pay a second placement fee for the replacement.
Why one week
Because that is when families know. Almost every parent who tells us in month three says they
knew in week one — the child was quiet, the tutor explained without checking understanding,
the sessions drifted.
A week is two or three sessions. That is enough to tell whether your child talks in the room,
asks questions, and comes away able to explain what was covered. It is not enough to judge
exam results, and it is not meant to.
How to ask for a replacement
- Message us on WhatsApp with the tutor's name and what is not working.
One or two sentences is plenty.
- We contact the tutor. Sometimes it is fixable in a single conversation —
a timetable clash, or a tutor teaching the wrong chapters because nobody told them which
ones were the problem.
- If it is not fixable, we send new profiles matched to the same subject,
class level and area, usually within 24 hours.
- You choose, and the new tutor starts. No second placement fee.
What is covered
- The tutor did not turn up, or repeatedly arrived late
- They cannot teach the subject at the level agreed
- Their qualifications or identity are not what the profile said
- Your child is uncomfortable with them
- The agreed days or times turned out not to work for the tutor
What is not covered
- Exam results. No tutor can guarantee a grade, and any platform promising
one is not being straight with you.
- A change of mind after several months. Outside the first week you are free
to end the tuition, but the placement fee is not returned.
- Tuitions arranged off-platform. If the tuition was never booked through us
we have no relationship with the tutor and nothing to enforce.
- Fees paid directly to the tutor. Money that never passed through
BengalTutors is between you and them.
How this sits with the fees
For home tuition, the placement fee is charged once in month one. A replacement
inside the first week does not trigger a second fee — you paid to be placed with a suitable
tutor, and you have not been yet.
For online 1-to-1, month one is held for the full month before anything is
released to the tutor. That is why the replacement window falls comfortably inside it: a
replacement needs no money clawed back from anyone.

child a few days. The same conversation in month three costs a term of progress, and by then
the placement fee has done its job.
