Home tutors in Rajshahi: hire on the university calendar, not yours
Rajshahi is a student city, and that gives parents here an advantage most of the country does not have — with one catch that costs families a term if they miss it.
The advantage is supply. Rajshahi University, the engineering university, the medical college and Rajshahi College put a large number of capable people within a short ride of most homes in the city. The catch is that almost all of them are students themselves, and a student tutor has a calendar.
The calendar is the whole game
A tutor taken on in the first weeks of a semester will usually see the year out. A tutor taken on three weeks before their own examinations will vanish during them — not from bad faith, but because their own paper matters more than your child's weekly class, as it should.
So ask one question before anything else: when are your next exams, and what happens to our classes during them? A tutor who answers precisely is a tutor who has thought about it. A tutor who says it will be fine has not.
Your area, and the ones people forget
The city runs on Boalia, Rajpara, Motihar and Shah Makhdum, with Chandrima, Kasiadanga, Katakhali, Belpukur, Airport, Karnahar and Damkura around them. Beyond the city the district takes in Paba, Puthia, Durgapur, Bagha, Bagmara, Charghat, Godagari, Mohonpur and Tanore.
Motihar is next to the university, which is why tutor supply is thickest there and thinnest in the outer upazilas. If you are in Bagha or Tanore, do not measure yourself against what a Motihar family can get in a day. Post the tuition and let the people willing to travel put themselves forward — that is a different and much better question than hoping one lives nearby.
What a Rajshahi tuition costs
Fees here sit below Dhaka and Chattogram. That is a real saving, not a lower standard: the same student who would tutor in Dhaka for more is tutoring here for less because their own costs are lower.

Admission season changes the market
From roughly the end of HSC to the admission tests, demand in Rajshahi rises sharply and the best subject tutors are taken first. Which university, which department, which year. Ask to see the ID. Anyone genuine produces it without being offended.
What did you get in the subject you are about to teach? Not their overall result — the subject.
Who have you taught before, and may I ring them? One name is enough. A tutor who has taught anyone will have one.
