Want to start a batch? We will run it with you

One-to-one tuition has a ceiling, and the ceiling is your own hours. Teaching six students at once for a lower fee each earns you more per hour, costs each family less, and uses everybody's evening better. That is a batch.

The reason most tutors never start one is not the teaching. It is everything around it: who has joined, who has paid this month, which class is next, who was absent, and what happens when somebody leaves in month three. That is the part we do.

What you decide

What the platform does

Enrolment. Your batch is listed on Live Batches. A student presses Join and fills in a short form — name, class, institution, address, phone and WhatsApp. No account needed, because a parent joining from a WhatsApp link at ten at night should not have to invent a password.

A seat is confirmed by a person. The form creates a request, not a seat. We check it and confirm, and only then does the student count towards your capacity or get billed. You are told the moment somebody joins.

The timetable. Tell us the days you teach and how many classes there are, and every date is generated for you. You can move one, cancel one, or add an extra class, and the reason for a move is kept — so when a parent asks why the class shifted, the answer is on the screen.

The register. Mark each class taught, and mark each student present, absent, late or excused. Attendance history is kept for the whole course. Late counts as attended; excused is left out of the percentage rather than counted against the student.

The money, without you touching it. Monthly fees are invoiced by the platform, not by you. You will never see which parent is behind on payment, and that is deliberate: a tutor who knows will act on it in class, in front of other children. Attendance is your business. Money is ours.

Class-by-class progress, so you and the family can both see how far through the course you are.

What it costs

For batches our share is ten per cent of the monthly fee, and a bank transfer carries no gateway charge. It is set out in full on the fees page. There is nothing to pay to create a batch, and nothing to pay if it does not fill.

Being straight about filling it

We will list your batch, and students browsing Live Batches will find it. But the batches that fill fastest are filled by tutors who also tell their own students, their college group and their neighbourhood that it exists. A listing is a shop window, not a queue.

Start small. Six seats that fill is a better first batch than twenty that half fill, and a small batch that finishes well is what fills the next one.
