Are you looking for a tuition? How to get your first one

By BengalTutors · 19 Aug 2026

If you are a university student in Bangladesh, tuition is almost certainly the best-paid work available to you per hour, and you are already qualified for it. The difficulty is never the teaching. It is getting the first one, and then getting paid properly for it.

This is how the process works here, and what actually decides who gets picked.

1. Create a profile a parent would choose

Your profile is the entire first impression. Most are three lines long, and they lose to the ones that are not. Fill in:

2. Apply where the work actually is

Parents post real tuitions with real budgets on the tuition jobs board. It is public — you can read every open job without an account — and each one shows the class, subjects, area, days, times and budget before you decide whether to apply.

Two habits separate the tutors who get picked:

Apply early. The jobs that fill fastest are filled by people who saw them the same day. Check the board daily.

Apply to what you fit. Applying to everything is visible from the other side, and it reads as availability rather than suitability. Three well-matched applications beat twenty scattergun ones.

3. Price it once, and hold it

Decide your monthly fee for two days a week at each class level, and quote it consistently. Things worth actually thinking about:

4. Get paid without awkwardness

The part nobody enjoys is asking for money. On BengalTutors the platform raises the invoice, so the fee conversation is not a conversation you have to have in somebody's living room. You teach; the invoice goes out with the amount, the month and a reference on it; the payment is confirmed against the bank before anything is marked paid.

Our share and how it is calculated is written plainly on the fees page. There are no surprises in it and no charge for having a profile.

5. If you would rather teach several students at once

One-to-one has a ceiling: your hours. A batch does not. If you can fill six seats at a lower fee each, you earn more per hour and your students pay less — and everybody's time is used better.

You can start a live batch on the platform: set the subject, the level, the days and times, the fee and the number of seats. We handle enrolment, the timetable, the register and the monthly invoices. There is a separate guide on starting your own batch.
