Home tutors in Rangpur: pay on the same date and you will keep them
Rangpur pays less for tuition than Dhaka, and the honest version of that sentence has two halves.
The first half is good news: a family here can afford a tutor that a Dhaka family on the same income cannot. The second half is the part nobody says out loud — the fee is low enough that a tutor who is underpaid or paid late simply stops coming, because the arrangement was never worth much to them in the first place. In this district, reliability is bought with punctuality more than with money.
The city and the district
Rangpur city runs on Kotwali, Tajhat, Parshuram, Mahiganj and Haragach. The district goes on into Rangpur Sadar, Badarganj, Gangachara, Kaunia, Mithapukur, Pirgacha, Pirganj and Taraganj.
Tutor supply is concentrated in the city, around Begum Rokeya University, the medical college and Carmichael College. If you are in Kotwali or Tajhat you have a real choice. In Gangachara or Taraganj you have a smaller and more local one — and the way to reach it is to post the tuition where local tutors will see it, rather than searching a list that was always going to be city-heavy.
Pay on the same date every month
This is the most practical advice in this article, and it is not about money.
A tutor here is often supporting their own studies with two or three tuitions. A household that pays on the 5th one month, the 12th the next and "after Eid" the third is the household they drop first — not out of resentment, but because the other two are predictable and this one is not.
Fix a date. Pay it. You will keep tutors that better-paying households lose.
What tuition costs
Among the lowest in the country for comparable work, which is a genuine advantage and not a lower standard: the same capable student would charge more in Dhaka because their rent is higher.
What sets the number is the class, the subject and the days per week. What should never set it is a fee that grows after the arrangement has started. We charge a placement fee once, in the first month, split between family and tutor, and after that nothing at all — from month two you pay the tutor directly, in full. The published figures.
Where online genuinely wins here
For most subjects, a local tutor is better: cheaper, present, and able to sit with the child.
The exception is the specialist paper. A strong HSC Physics or Higher Math tutor, or somebody who has actually sat a medical or engineering admission test recently, may not be within reach of Pirgacha or Mithapukur at any price. Online, they are — and for one paper, two evenings a week, the cost is manageable. Keep the local tutor for everything else. Online tutors
If you are the tutor, not the parent
Rangpur has a large student population and not enough of them are earning from it. A tuition here is not going to fund a lifestyle, but two of them cover a good part of a month, and the experience is worth more than the money in the year you start applying for things.
The board is free to use and the tuitions are real: tuition jobs, and how to get your first one.
