Home tutors in Khulna: is your tutor coming by road or across water?
Khulna is a city with a clean answer to a question most families here never think to ask: is your tutor coming by road or across water?
In the city itself the question does not arise. Khulna Sadar, Sonadanga, Khalishpur, Daulatpur, Khan Jahan Ali, Labanchara, Harintana and Aranghata are a short ride apart and a tutor will treat any of them as local. Outside the city it arises constantly, because the district runs into the delta — Rupsha, Digholia, Botiaghata, Dumuria, Terokhada, Fultola, Paikgasa, Dakop and Koyra.
The delta is not a detail
A tuition in Dakop or Koyra is not a longer version of a tuition in Sonadanga. It is a different arrangement, and pretending otherwise is how families there end up with three tutors in a year.
If you live in the outer upazilas, two things work and one does not.
What works: a local tutor for the daily subjects, taken on with realistic days — three a week that actually happen, not five that do not. And an online tutor for the one subject where local supply genuinely runs out, which for most families is HSC Physics, Chemistry or Higher Math. Online tutors removes the journey from the equation entirely.
What does not work: a tutor from the city agreeing to come out during monsoon because they need the money in October. They mean it in October. They stop in July.
The city, and where the tutors are
Khulna's tutor supply comes from the engineering university at Fultola, the medical college, BL College in Daulatpur and the city's other colleges. Which means the thickest supply sits along the Daulatpur–Khalishpur–Sonadanga line, and thins as you move away from it.
If you are in Khan Jahan Ali or Aranghata, you are still comfortably inside the pool. If you are in Rupsha or Digholia, name your area precisely when you ask, so that the tutors who reply are the ones who genuinely will travel.
What tuition costs in Khulna
Below Dhaka, roughly level with Rajshahi. The class, the subject, the number of days and the travel move the number — the city name does not, much.
The figure worth checking is not the monthly fee but what happens around it. We charge a placement fee once, in the first month, shared between the family and the tutor. From month two we charge nothing and take nothing; you pay the tutor directly and in full. Everything is published: what tuition costs.
Batches, if the fee is the obstacle
If a one-to-one tuition is more than the household can carry, three or four children of the same class sharing a tutor is not a compromise so much as a different product — cheaper per family, and for some subjects better, because children argue with each other and that is how they find out what they do not know.
It works best for General Mathematics, Science and English at SSC level, and worst for a child who is significantly behind and needs the tutor's whole attention. We help families set these up: how a batch works.
Or let the tutors come to you
Rather than working through profiles, describe the tuition once — subject, class, area, days, budget — and let tutors reply. Free, and your address is never published. Post a tuition
