How BengalTutors Verifies Every Tutor
We ask parents to trust tutors they have never met. The least we can do is say exactly what we checked before putting that tutor in front of you.
What every tutor goes through
1. Identity. National ID or student ID, checked against the name and photograph on the profile. A profile without this never goes live.
2. Education. The claimed university and department, evidenced. A tutor who says they study Physics at BUET shows something that says so. This is the check parents care most about, because for SSC and HSC subjects it predicts teaching quality better than anything else.
3. Phone. A working number that reaches the tutor. Sounds trivial; it removes a surprising number of profiles.
4. Photograph. Current, recognisable, actually the tutor. You should know them at the door.
5. Service areas. Not their address — the areas they commit to travelling to. We match on this, because distance decides whether a tuition survives.
What we reject
- Profiles where the ID and the claimed name differ
- Education claims with no evidence behind them
- Numbers that never answer
- Stock or borrowed photographs
- Anyone claiming to teach every subject at every level — nobody does, and it usually means the profile was filled in carelessly
What we deliberately do not claim
We do not claim to guarantee teaching quality. We check that a tutor is who they say and studied what they say. Whether they can hold your child's attention for an hour is something only the first week reveals — which is why we build a trial into every placement rather than pretending a badge replaces it.
We do not run criminal background checks. No platform in Bangladesh can, and any that claims to should be asked how.
We do not re-verify continuously. We re-check when a tutor's details change or a family raises a concern.
Being straight about the limits is the only way the checks we do run mean anything.
If it still goes wrong
Tell us in the first week. We replace the tutor at no additional cost.
We would rather replace a tutor in week one than have a family quietly endure a poor fit for three months — which is what happens on platforms whose job ends when the money arrives. Every family that tells us in month three says they knew by week one.
What you should still do yourself
Verification is a floor, not a ceiling. Before the first session: see the ID yourself, agree days and payment date, and sit nearby for part of the first hour. The full checklist is here.
